This catalogue saw the (re-)introduction of the late sixties Gibson Les Paul Custom and Les Paul Standard (see page 69) and the short-lived Hofner Club 70. Selmer were the exclusive United Kingdom distributors of Hofner and Gibson at the time, and this catalogue contains a total of 18 electric guitars, 7 bass guitars, 37 acoustics, and 2 Hawaiian guitars - all produced outside the UK and imported by Selmer, with UK prices included in guineas. Scan of 1968/1969 Selmer guitar catalogue (printed July 1968), showing the entire range of electric and acoustic guitars distributed by the company: guitars by Hofner, Gibson, Selmer and Giannini. The back page of this catalog, shows the same image as the other catalogu in this series: a guitar player with a Les Paul Deluxe guitar

One other bass appears in this series, although it is in the 1970 Les Paul brochure, rather than the Bass brochure - the Gibson Les Paul bass This is also the last US catalog appearance of the EB2 bass. This could perhaps be considered as a precursor to the Gibson SB bass range. This model was never manufactured in large numbers, and was more likely included to gauge public opinion to a cheap non-mahogany bass. One interesting bass shown here is the Gibson EB.

The slotted headstock EB series now included long scale versions, which proved popular, despite never outselling the shortscales. Gibson offered several new bass models and sales were pretty good. America was in recession, and guitar sales were continually dropping from their peak just five years earlier. Parent company CMI had been bought out, and was now run by Norlin. The precise date is not listed, but somewhere between the printing of the two Gibson price lists of that year March and September.ġ970 was a key year for Gibson. The 1970 mini-catalogues were printed in early-mid 1970. Strongly prefer local pickup in/around Dedham, MA but will ship within continental U.S.Dimensions: 9" x 4" - 8 full colour pages.

If you're interested in any of the other parts (Hipshot bridge, Ultralite Tuners, matching knobs, etc), please check out my shop / feel free to send me a message! I'm selling all of the parts I used in this build separately, and have included a picture of how it looked as a fully assembled body. Perfect to some, but a dealbreaker to others - would rather tell it all and let you decide, so please check the photos and ask any questions! Ultimately, the body has character but nothing beyond standard light wear.

There's also an outline of where the previous bridge was, visible in the correct light There's a small (~2x4mm) surface chip in the lower right, highlighted in a photo. On the back, there’s some light denting (similar to buckle rash) in the middle of the body, but I coated it over with the final finish and clearcoat so there's no raw wood - difficult to see, but you can see the indentations in the right light which I tried to capture in photos. The front of the body has some fine scratches and imperfections when viewed in the correct light. I'll include the gold strap buttons and gold jack-plate unless you don't want themĬondition - Very good with standard light wear:īody is in great shape but still lightly used - the thin finish on this guitar lends itself to a natural "aging" look. The color has almost a flame effect to it depending on the light! Also, black shielding paint in all cavities This finish is similar to a varnish, and retains some of the texture of the wood. Finished in Wudtone "Hot Auburn'' with a thin glossy clearcoat. Previously had an Allparts P-neck which fit perfectly. Built to accept standard Fender / Fender licensed bass necks.

Looking to sell my Thunderbird/Fenderbird bass body built by Rosser Guitars, USA in 2022.
